Sivakarthikeyan is all set to play the lead in Seyon, a big mythological entertainer backed by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International. The buzz in the industry is huge because reports say he is getting paid ₹65 crore for the film. That number includes his advance and a share from the profits after the theatrical run. The confidence in the project is clear, as Netflix has already picked up the digital rights for ₹55 crore.
This is the second time Kamal Haasan and Sivakarthikeyan are working together after Amaran. That film was a massive hit in 2024 and went past ₹300 crore worldwide, becoming Sivakarthikeyan’s biggest grosser so far. The success of Amaran gave him a strong pan-India reach, and that is why Seyon is being planned on an even bigger scale. The actor-producer combo is now one of the most bankable teams in Tamil cinema.
Seyon is directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, who made a mark with his debut Thaai Kizhavi in 2026. The story is set during the Maasi Kalari festival at Virumandi Temple in Karumathur, Madurai. It focuses on local faith, folklore, and how people worship their village deities. Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead. The team is calling it a mythological mass entertainer with strong rural roots and spiritual themes.
The film is aiming for a worldwide release in October 2026. With a ₹65 crore salary, ₹55 crore OTT deal, and a festive Madurai backdrop, Seyon is already being listed as one of the key Tamil films for 2026. The mix of Kamal Haasan’s production, Sivakarthikeyan’s market, and a fresh director could make this a festival winner.
