The India Story,  a hard-hitting socio-national drama starring Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade, is gearing up for a theatrical release on July 24, 2026. Presented by Zee Studios in association with MIG Production & Studios, the film marks the directorial debut of Chettan DK. Produced and written by Sagar B Shinde, it’s also being called The India Story: Slow Poison and dives into a crisis that rarely gets mainstream attention.

The plot exposes the devastating impact of chemical misuse, focusing on pesticide farming scandals that endanger public health across India. Instead of telling a single family’s tragedy, the film expands the scope to show a nationwide emergency, demanding stronger regulations and corporate accountability.

The narrative blends investigative drama with emotional depth, questioning industrial negligence while keeping the storytelling gripping. This is the first time Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade share screen space. Buzz around The India Story grew after Zee Studios dropped the release date announcement. On the technical side, Nishant Bhagwat handles cinematography, Mangesh Dhakde scores the music, Ashish Mhatre edits, Shakeel Azami writes the lyrics, and Anmol Bhave manages sound design.

A Zee Studios Worldwide Release, the film will hit screens in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil to reach a pan-India audience. With Kajal Aggarwal’s strong following in the South and Shreyas Talpade’s credibility in Hindi cinema, the makers are targeting both multiplex and mass centers. From chemical farming to public safety, the film aims to be more than just entertainment, it wants to start a national dialogue. The India Story arrives July 24 with a message that’s urgent and unsettling.
