Popular actress and TV host Anasuya Bharadwaj has thanked the Cyberabad Police from the heart for their quick response in an online harassment case. The Cyber Crime Police arrested a 30-year-old man who allegedly ran a social media handle posting defamatory and obscene content targeting Anasuya. The abusive posts were aimed at damaging her dignity and reputation, and she finally got justice after the police stepped in.
The accused is now facing serious charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act 2000. Police have made it clear that cyber harassment is being taken very seriously these days. This isn’t the first such case either. Back in March 2026, actress Lavanya Tripathi also filed a cyber complaint against an Instagram user for abusive posts. Reacting to the action, Anasuya said she’s relieved and grateful to the Cyberabad Police for standing with victims. Her message is simple: online abuse won’t be tolerated anymore.
Police also shared an important reminder. there’s no real anonymity online. Every comment, post, or message leaves a digital trail. If someone thinks they can hide behind a fake account and bully others, they’re wrong. Cyberbullies can and will be tracked down. The cops urged everyone to use social media responsibly and respect others’ privacy and dignity.
If you or someone you know faces online harassment, don’t stay silent. Report it right away. You can call the national cyber helpline 1930 or walk into the nearest cybercrime police station. This case shows that strict action is real and help is always available for victims.
