Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan to Reunite After Bhooth Bangla and Haiwaan
Bollywood Comedy Combo To Reunite For Third Film
Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan are reportedly planning to collaborate again on a new comedy project, even before their upcoming films Bhooth Bangla and Haiwaan release. According to Bollywood circles, the actor-director duo is in talks for a fresh comedy under Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films.
The Akshay Kumar Priyadarshan comedy is expected to go on floors in February 2027, after Priyadarshan completes his current commitments. While details are still under wraps, one idea pitched by Taurani is a possible sequel to the 2021 horror-comedy Bhoot Police. However, no final decision has been made yet on the script or title.
Priyadarshan is currently busy promoting Bhooth Bangla and finishing Haiwaan, which stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. After Haiwaan’s release, the director plans to helm a comedy with Pankaj Tripathi and an ensemble cast. He will then direct his milestone 100th film featuring Mohanlal in the lead role. That project is said to be music-based and is expected to go on floors in the last quarter of 2026. Only after wrapping these films will Priyadarshan begin work on the next Akshay Kumar collaboration for Tips Films.
Akshay Kumar has a packed lineup ahead of this new Priyadarshan project. After Bhooth Bangla, he will be seen in the comedy Welcome to the Jungle, set to release on June 26, 2026. The suspense thriller Haiwaan with Priyadarshan is also slated for later this year. Akshay is working on Bhagam Bhag 2 and Golmaal 5, both scheduled for release next year.
