Mrunal Thakur talks of High Benchmark

Mrunal Thakur is currently starring in Adivi Sesh's Dacoit directed by Shaniel Deo. Now, speaking to scribes, she shared why she is doing less films.

She said “Trust me, it’s such a tempt when the other filmmakers reach out to me. The package is fantastic, but with a big, heavy heart I have to say no."

She continued “Because I feel the benchmark that Sita Mahalakshmi [Sita Ramam] and Yashna [Hi Nanna] have set, I have to live up to that. Laalach buri bala hai. So sometimes, no matter how big the opportunity is, I have to respectfully say ‘Sir, I will wait for the right film’. And that’s what I have been doing,"

Dacoit tells the story of a man who is wrongly convicted and imprisoned, only to return after his escape with revenge burning in his heart. His target is the woman who betrayed him — a betrayal that shattered his life and altered his fate forever. As he confronts his past, the protagonist finds himself torn between avenging the betrayal and protecting the very woman who wronged him, along with her husband.
