Selvaraghavan Confirms That Pudhupettai 2 Script Completed

Tamil cinema fans have a reason to celebrate as director Selvaraghavan, the elder brother of actor Dhanush, confirms that he has finished writing Pudhupettai 2. The filmmaker announced on X (Twitter) that the scripting work is complete, bringing the long-awaited sequel closer to reality.

The wait is finally over for fans of the original Pudhupettai, released in 2006. Selvaraghavan had stated that the script was “almost ready”, but the project didn’t materialize as planned. With the official confirmation, the formal launch announcement is expected soon.

Dhanush has been busy with multiple projects, including upcoming Telugu films and potential collaborations with top directors. The Pudhupettai 2 update is exciting news for his fan base. The original film is a cult classic, celebrated for its gritty portrayal of crime and Dhanush’s evolution as Kokki Kumar. The film was also dubbed into Telugu as Dhoolpet at that time by Super Good Films, but didn't received positive result.
