Dhurandhar Director Huge Shoutout to Ram Gopal Varma

Aditya Dhar, the mastermind behind the 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar, has openly credited Ram Gopal Varma's iconic films, Satya and Company, as major inspirations for his work. Dhar revealed, "I was mainly influenced by Satya and Company, and then I mixed them, and put some patriotism." Fans have also pointed out striking similarities between Ranveer Singh's character in Dhurandhar and Varma's legendary Bhiku Mhatre.

Dhurandhar's success can be attributed to its gritty action, deep characters, and a storyline that weaves together real-life events. The film's unique blend of raw underworld vibes and patriotic themes resonated with audiences, making it a massive hit. Varma, known for his influential works, has also acknowledged drawing inspiration from classics like The Godfather.

Dhar credits RGV for teaching him to "think dangerously," saying Varma's films were always on his mind while making Dhurandhar.
