Ranabali having this deadly backdrop

Ranabali backdrop revealed. Vijay Devarakonda is starring in a film titled interestingly as Ranabali. The film directed by Rahul Sankartiyan of Taxiwala fame stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.

Vijay Devarakonda will be joining the sets after his marriage in couple of days from now. In the meantime, speculation is increasing on the film's backdrop. A source shares "The film gained traction after its first glimpse hinted at a powerful narrative set during colonial India. The visuals suggest an intense story inspired by real historical incidents, with Vijay Deverakonda stepping into a character shaped by the struggles of people who lived through one of the most turbulent phases in Indian history."

The source adds "The backdrop of Ranabaali is the devastating famine of 1876–78, one of the deadliest tragedies during British rule. Large parts of southern India, including Rayalaseema, were severely affected after repeated droughts weakened agricultural communities. When the monsoons failed in 1876, starvation spread rapidly across the region."

The source continues "Historical accounts note that grain exports from India continued during the crisis, while relief measures introduced by British official Sir Richard Temple imposed strict austerity policies and famine camps with minimal rations.
