Sangeetha Files New Petition Against Vijay In Divorce Case

Sangeetha Vijay, wife of Tamil actor and TVK leader Vijay, has filed a new petition in the Chengalpattu Family Court, seeking permission to continue living in their Neelankarai residence until the divorce proceedings conclude. She claims the property belongs to both of them and requests to stay there until she finds alternative accommodation.

In her petition, Sangeetha alleges Vijay has prevented her from staying in the Neelankarai house and is seeking financial support for herself and their children. She demands 50% ownership of the property and requests the court to issue an order directing Vijay to allow her to reside there.

The divorce petition, filed in February 2026, cites emotional cruelty, neglect, and an alleged extramarital relationship as reasons for seeking divorce. Sangeetha discovered the alleged affair in April 2021, leading to prolonged mental distress.

The court is expected to review Sangeetha's petition and decide on her residence rights and financial support. The case has drawn significant attention due to Vijay's prominent public profile as a Tamil cinema star and TVK founder. Vijay has been directed to appear in court on April 20, 2026, for further proceedings.
