The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond, the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster, has turned out to be a massive box office disappointment. Despite the first part's success, collecting ₹250 Cr nett in India and ₹300 Cr gross worldwide, the sequel has collected just ₹10 Cr nett and ₹12 Cr gross in India so far.

The original film, released amid controversy, was a mega blockbuster, typically sequels of successful films do well at the box office. However, The Kerala Story 2 defied expectations, collecting a fraction of what its predecessor earned. The film faced legal troubles before release, with the Kerala High Court initially staying the release for 15 days following a controversial response to its trailer.

The controversy generated significant publicity, but audiences did not turn up in large numbers. The 15-day delay may have hurt initial momentum, and mixed word-of-mouth further impacted collections. The film's opening weekend collection is ₹10.15 Cr, with ₹0.75 Cr on day 1, ₹4.65 Cr on day 2, and ₹4.75 Cr on day 3.

The Kerala Story 2 stars Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, Aishwarya Ojha, Sumit Gahlawat, and Arjan Singh Aujla in key roles. Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the film follows the journey of three young women drawn into deceptive marriages and alleged forced religious conversions. The film's poor performance is a stark contrast to its predecessor's success, highlighting the challenges of living up to expectations.
