People Media Factory, the production house which bought Telugu rights of Prabhas' Adipurush in Telugu states, suffered significant financial losses after acquiring the rights for a high price. Their subsequent collaboration with Prabhas, The Raja Saab, started as a modest budget venture but ballooned into a massive budget project.
Unfortunately, the film failed to resonate with audiences, leading to heavy losses, especially since the producers self released the movie, increasing their financial burden. These setbacks have left the studio looking for a major turnaround to recover from their investments and losses in these two high-profile projects.
Now, all eyes are on Prabhas' upcoming film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which is scheduled for a March 5, 2027 release. People Media Factory is pinning their hopes on this film to recoup at least a portion of their previous losses, as they hold the rights to this highly anticipated project.
Spirit is expected to be a global entertainer, with a gritty, high impact cop role for Prabhas and a star studded cast including Triptii Dimri. The film has already generated massive buzz, with a record breaking digital rights deal of ₹160 crore, and is being positioned as a pan India and pan Asian release. The success of Spirit is crucial, not just for the studio's financial recovery, but also for Prabhas' continued dominance in the pan India market.
