Vijay's upcoming film Jana Nayagan directed by H.Vinoth is releasing on 9 Jan 2026. Expectations are high on the film as it happens to be Vijay's last film.
For long rumours spread that Jana Nayagan is a remake of Balakrishna-Anil Ravipudi's Bhagavanth Kesari. But Vinoth denied them vehemently and yesterday the makers released the trailer of the film.
Now, fans are trolling the trailer of Jana Nayagan for various reasons. Here are the reactions of the fans.
A commented, “#JanaNayagan trailer is extremely disappointing! Honestly, it would’ve been better if they hadn’t released it at all. It feels like a reworked version of Bhagavanth Kesari, and not even an upgrade. Everything looks basic and generic.”
Another said, “So this is #BhagavanthKesari adaptation with over the top elements and a humanoid robo. Will work in TN for the politics-induced highs it's gonna deliver at points. Other than that… Sathya did well, and action blocks are top tier. Hopefully something to celebrate on.”
A comment read, “Scenes, Weapons, Dialogues, Set Locations, Character Name…Everything in #JanaNayagan copied straight from #BhagavanthKesari!” Another user noted, “Calling it a scene-to-scene remake feels a bit stretched. Yes, a few sequences and emotional beats are clearly adapted from Bhagavanth Kesari, but the trailer also shows enough restructuring to suit Thalapathy Vijay’s image and Tamil sensibilities. It looks more like an official adaptation with retained core moments rather than a carbon copy.”
Fans even spotted AI image on the trailer and this made them even more furious “Using gemini ai for remake movie too,” commented a person. “Such a rookie mistakes team of #JanaNayaganTrailer Who is the editor lmfao.” Another wrote, "400-crore budget, but what is this, man?”
A tweet read, “This is unacceptable. This shouldn’t be the norm. AI doesn’t belong in movies, and it’s important to call out people who use it in mainstream media.” Another said, “Wtf man it's his last film ain't it supposed to be grand.”
