Asian Cinemas and Mahesh Babu Expand Partnership With An IMAX

Asian Cinemas and Mahesh Babu's successful partnership is expanding with new projects in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The duo's multiplex, AMB Cinemas, has become a top choice for movie lovers in Hyderabad, and they're now launching AMB Classic at X Roads and another multiplex at Hakimpet. 

The Hakimpet location was earlier rumored to feature an IMAX screen, announced by Asian Suniel, but IMAX later clarified that no official agreement was in place. Reports suggest the IMAX plan is still in early stages, but Asian Cinemas and Mahesh Babu intend to bring IMAX to Hyderabad. If plans go ahead, the IMAX screen is expected to open by mid-2027. 

This would be a game-changer for audiences in Hyderabad, who are already excited about Mahesh Babu's upcoming film Varanasi, said to be the first Indian film shot in IMAX format. The success of AMB Cinemas has set the stage for further expansion, and the potential IMAX screen is a major draw. With Varanasi shot in IMAX, fans are eager to experience it on the big screen. 

Asian Cinemas' expansion plans are on track, with Bengaluru and Hyderabad seeing new developments. The IMAX screen at Hakimpet would be a milestone, offering audiences an immersive experience. With Mahesh's film Varanasi being shot in IMAX, the anticipation is palpable.
