Tamil director turned actor Pradeep Ranganathan is making a comeback behind the camera. After scoring back to back hits with Love Today, Dragon, and Dude, Pradeep is set to direct his next film under AGS Entertainment, with himself as the lead hero. The film is planned for a 2026 shoot and release, marking his third collaboration with AGS Productions.
In Love Today (2022), Pradeep not only directed but also starred in the film, which raked in ₹100 crore at the box office. He then focused on acting, featuring in Dragon, Dude, and the yet to release Love Insurance Kompany (LIK). Producer Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment confirmed the project, highlighting Pradeep’s strong track record with the studio.
Pradeep’s last release, Dude, directed by Keerthiswaran, saw him alongside Mamitha Baiju, with the event-planning drama grossing over ₹100 crore globally. It was his third consecutive 100-crore hit, outpacing Bison and Diesel this Diwali. Though Dude received mixed reviews, Pradeep’s charm won audiences.
Meanwhile, Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), directed by Vignesh Shivan with Krithi Shetty and SJ Suryah, was delayed from its Deepavali release and now awaits a new date. Backed by Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studio, the sci-fi rom com has been quiet on promotions. With this return to directing, fans are curious will Pradeep Ranganathan’s blend of humor and heart win again?
