Ram Gopal Varma debut as hero in Show Man

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma is known for his different genre entertainers and set a trend with his films few decades back.

Of late he lost his charm and he is coming up with B and C grade films. In the meantime, reports are coming that Ram Gopal Varma is making his debut as the lead actor.

The film comes with the tagline Mad Monster and is directed by newcomer Nutan. Thummalapalli Rama Satyanarayana is producing the film. Speaking to scribes, he said “I approached several big stars like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh, but I couldn’t get their dates. So, I decided to cast my ‘god’, Ram Gopal Varma, as the lead actor,”

The film stars Suman in an important role as the powerful antaonist. Rama Satyanarayana says “The shoot is currently underway in Mumbai. We are planning to release a teaser soon, and I will reveal more information at that time,”

He shared “I produced around five films with RGV as director, and two of them — Ice Cream and Ice Cream 2 — were quite popular,” and said RGV is worth Rs 50crs as an actor and added “But he did not ask for remuneration for this film. He wants to take it after the film is completed.”

He added “If I make a film with a big star, I’m not sure whether it will release smoothly or not. But with RGV, he is a true showman, and I know the film will definitely hit the theatres because there is always interest around him,”

On Suman as the villian, he says “Suman delivered a powerful performance as the antagonist in Rajinikanth’s Sivaji, and that’s why I chose him for this film as well.” The film is bankrolled on Bhimavaram Talkies in a prestigious manner.
