Keerthy Suresh, after capturing the imagination of all with her performance in Mahanati, which won her the National Award, failed to replicate the same magic with her next films, though she did different genre entertainers. She is now coming to entertain with her upcoming film, Revolver Rita, directed by JK.Chandru, which is releasing on 28 November 2025. Revolver Rita's OTT rights have been acquired by Netflix, and streaming will be right after the completion of its theatrical run. Revolver Rita revolves around how a birthday party planned in a house changes the lives of a family comprising of a mother and three daughters and how they deal with the developments. Rita (Keerthy Suresh), plans a birthday party for his nephew at her house but when she and her family comprising of her mother Chellamma (Radhika Sarathkumar) has a surprise in store in the evenning.

 To findout the surprise and the shocking turn of events and how these developments are connected to Don Dracula Pandian (Super Subbarayan), his brother Dracula Bobby (Sunil), Inspector Kamaraj (John Vijay), Reddy (Ajay Ghosh) , Cheetah (Redin Kingsley), Master (Kalyan Master), Dasu (Mime Gopi) and others form the crux of the narration.

Keerthy Suresh is ok in her role. At times, she came up with good expressions, but most of the time she failed, thus robbing the desired impact. She even looked odd and pale on the screen.

Radhika Sarathkumar failed with her performance in her role. Generally, she comes up with impactful performance, but this time, even her experience failed. Ajay Ghosh looked fine, but after a point of time, even he irritated with his antics. There are many other actors like Suresh Chakravarthy, John Vijay, Redin Kingsley, etc, and all of them looked like mere caricatures. Same is the case with Sunil, who turned out to be the laughing stock, just passing through the motions.

Revolver Rita's story is penned by JK.Chandru. He tried to entertain viewers with a crime comedy. But right from the start to the end everything looked predictable to the core. To the top of it, instead of generating situational comedy, he included many scenes and made the cast to deliver dialogues in a loud manner, and the actors also went over the top with their performances.

There are many experienced actors, but the director failed to get the optimum out of them, and he should take the blame for it. The casting turned out to be poor, and the loud performances ended up irritating the viewers.

He failed completely with the story, and the screenplay and direction turned out to be atrocious. Not only does the story lack novelty, but it also lacks the emotions. Many films came with a similar concept, and so the story offered nothing new. The scenes are repeated unnecessarily, and to top of it all, various new characters are introduced every second to take the next scene forward, and this shows that the director was bereft of ideas.

Dialouges are stale and pretty ordinary, and except for a couple of scenes where humour worked, everything else turned out to be mediocre.

The music of Sean Roldan turned out to be disappointing. The tunes turned out to be below average and are out of sync. The background score turned out to be a mismatch and substandard. Dinesh Krishnan's cinematography is ok but he failed to elevate the mood of the plot effectively. Praveen's editing turned out to be mediocre, and there are many scenes that diluted the essence. Production values are below average.

Revolver Rita (2025) Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Revolver Rita turns out to be a forgettable outing. Keerthy Suresh's performance turned out to be a mixed bag while JK.Chandru didnot inspire confidence at all with the lacklustre story, screenplay and direction. No amount of rework on the script would have changed the fate of the film. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1.5 rating for Revolver Rita.
