Suriya 47 Production Set to Begin in Kerala on 8 December

The highly‑anticipated Tamil film Suriya 47, helmed by Malayalam director Jithu Madhavan, is slated to start principal photography in Kerala on 8 December 2025. Set construction and location scouting are already underway, with the production team having confirmed the shoot will kick off in the first week of December.

Suriya will reprise a police role, delivering a full‑on entertainer that blends Director Jeethu Madhavan’s quirky storytelling with Suriya’s charismatic cop persona. The project, produced under 2D Entertainment and the newly launched Zhagaram banner, is expected to be a pan‑Indian release in 2026.

Nazriya Nazim has been finalized for the female lead, while rumors suggest Naslen and Fahadh Faasil may join the ensemble. Sushin Shyam will compose the soundtrack, marking his Tamil debut, and Nimish Ravi (Lokah fame) will handle cinematography.

The film’s tentative release window is April–June 2026. On the work‑front, Suriya’s other upcoming projects include Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji eyeing for Pongal 2026 release and a Venky Atluri film , Suriya 46 slated for late 2026.
