Radhika Apte and Anurag Kashyap starrer Saali Mohabbat to land on ZEE5

After an impressive run at prominent international film festivals, Tisca Chopra’s directorial debut Saali Mohabbat is set to premiere exclusively on ZEE5 later this year. The film, which premiered at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) last year and screened at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival this year, follows Smita, a small‑town housewife whose ordinary life spirals into a labyrinth of infidelity, deceit, and moral ambiguity. The narrative evolves from a domestic drama into a gripping psychological thriller that explores betrayal, revenge, and the thin line between truth and illusion .

Radhika Apte returns to ZEE5 after her acclaimed performance in Mrs Undercover (2023), delivering a powerful portrayal of Smita. She is joined by an ensemble cast including Divyendu Sharma, Anurag Kashyap, Anshumaan Pushkar, Sauraseni Maitra, and Sharat Saxena. Produced by Jio Studios in association with Manish Malhotra’s Stage5 Production, the film marks the designer’s digital debut as a producer, blending his signature visual finesse with a deeply emotional storyline .

Tisca Chopra, who also scripts the film, emphasized her vision: “With Saali Mohabbat, I wanted to tell a story that feels both intimate and unsettling, one that captures a woman’s gaze in a world full of hidden fractures and polite façades.” She added that the film delves into fragile boundaries of trust, betrayal, and identity, presenting a deeply female perspective on how love can transform into something darker .
