Priyadarshi, Niharika NM's Mithra Mandali directed by Vijayendar S is releasing on 16 October offering Deepavali treat. Mithra Mandali's OTT inked by Amazon Prime Video. Let us find out how the film entertained movie lovers.
Mithra Mandali's story revolves around four friends who live happily without caring a hoot for anything until their life takes a drastic turn with the entry of a beautiful girl into their lives. Chaitanya (Priyadarshi), Abhay (Rag Mayur), Satwik (Vishnu Oi) and Rajiv (Prasad Behara) lead a happy-go-lucky life, not bothering about their families in Jungli Patnam.
Their happy lives take a drastic turn when they happen to see a beautiful girl, Swechha (Niharika NM). Where this leads to, what roles Swechha's father, influential politician Narayana Tutte (VTV.Ganesh) who is obsessed with caste, SI Sagar K Chandra (Vennela Kishore), Freedom Raju (Satya Prakash), play, and how is Important Character (Satya) is connected to the proceedings form the rest of the narration.
Priyadarshi played these kind of roles earlier. It is a cake walk for him and he performed effortlessly showing variations in his expressions, mannerisms and dialogue delivery and made his presence felt on the screen. Niharika NM, popular youtuber, made her debut with this film and she is just ok. She got limited scope to show her acting talent and passed through the motions.
Vishnu Oi and Rag Mayur elevated the scenes with their hilarious antics and with Priyadarshi elevated the hilarious scenes creating a laughing riot. Prasad Behara did justice to his role. Vennela Kishore is good in the role of a cop who gets frustrated with the proceedings. Satya, VTV.Ganesh, Satya Prakash,Raghu, Jeevan and others performed according to the roles. Brahmanandam appeared in a song.
Mithra Mandali story is penned by Vijayender. The story is very simple but Vijayender concentrated on the screenplay to add comedy scenes and entertain movie lovers. Though this is a tough job, he came up with a decent effort. From the beginning the team has been promoting the film telling viewers to enjoy it without looking into logics. If the viewers follow the same, they can enjoy it by watching it once on the screen.
The romantic track turned out to be simple and the director with different screenplay pattern came up with satires on those obsessed with caste. Satya's character looked forced and without his role also the film would have moved smoothly. At times, his role turned out to be irritating. Even songs are forced just for commercial elements. The film reminds one of Sudigaru starring Allari Naresh.
The scenes in the film is loaded with satires, spoofs and trending reels on social media. Few may enjoy but others will feel the entire story cringe.
Siddharth SJ with his cinematography added value to the proceedings. RR.Dhruvan experimented with the tunes in the music for the songs. The lyrics are funny and entertaining and he used remix of the old songs and created spoofs. He did the same with the BGM bringing in novelty. Peekay left many drags in the editing and he should have done away with it to make the proceedings fast. Dialogues are funny and production values are just ok.
Altogether, Mithra Mandali turns out to be a satirical take on the caste system. Director Vijayendar came up with a simple story and banked on the spoofs to take the proceedings forward with the screenplay. Though at times it sailed smoothly, his penchant for commercial elements and forced scenes, and a few irrelevant and unnecessary characters played the spoilsport. With the story being very simple, with the passage of time, the scenes get repeated, and the characters also turn out to be loud in their dialogue delivery, ending up irritating viewers. Many scenes dragged and ended up boring viewers, and despite the best efforts of the experienced cast, the proceedings didnot reach the next level. A few more hilarious scenes, sensible twists would have added value to the proceedings, doing away with the cringeworthy elements. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1.5 rating for Mithra Mandali.
