Lookout notice against Shilpa Shetty and her husband

Celebrity couple Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra landed in trouble when a lookout notice has been issued against them.

Mumbai police issued a lookout notice against them as the couple were accused of Rs 60 crore cheating case,. They  were linked to the deal involving the couple's now-defunct firm, Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd.

The Economic Offences Wing of the city police issued the LOC, citing the couple's frequent international travel, an official said.A case was registered against the couple on 14 Aug by Mumbai-based businessman Deepak Kothari  who accused them of defrauding him of Rs 60crs in a loan-cum-investment deal.

He accused the couple of diverting the funds for personal use by Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty. Mumbai Police booked the couple under Sections 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

On behalf of Shilpa and Raj, advocate Prashant Patil eariler said "There is no criminality involved and our auditors have submitted all the necessary supporting documents from time to time, as requested by the EOW, including detailed cash flow statements. The investment agreement in question is purely in the nature of an equity investment,"
