Akhanda 2 Record Breaking OTT Deal

The highly anticipated film "Akhanda 2," starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Boyapati Srinu, has made headlines with its record breaking OTT deal. According to reports, Jio Hotstar has acquired the film's digital streaming rights for all languages at an estimated Rs 85 crore, outbidding platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime. This deal would mark the highest ever digital price for a Balakrishna starrer.

The deal is significant not only for its value but also for the condition that the film will be released theatrically in December, ensuring that it is available for streaming during the Sankranthi holiday season. With one song left to shoot, the film is now in its final leg of post-production. The makers had initially planned to release the film on September 25, but they have now targeted a December 5 release.

The original "Akhanda" became a blockbuster in 2021, powered by Balakrishna's dual role and Boyapati's signature mass action blended with mysticism.
