Since two days, Tollywood got impacted when the Film Industry Employees Federation took a strong decision calling for the stalling of the shoots till the producers agree for 30% hike in the employees salaries and also payment of salaries day by day without fail.
This triggered a huge furore and today employees staged protests at the Annapurna Studios where Pawan Kalyan's Ustaad Bhagat Singh shoot was underway. In the midst of all this, Producers Council decided to act tough and made it clear that they are in no mood to increase the wages of the employees.
Producers Council is unhappy at the unilateral decisionof the Film Federation to halt the shootings and also oppose the workers from other states. It said that this will result in monopoly and restrict talent and questioned why should one pay lakhs to become a member of the Film Federation when a person has talent and doesn't have money to become the member.
