Tammareddy Bharadwaj slams Kannappa

Recently Manchu Vishnu came up with a devotional entertainer Kannappa which starred Preity Mukundhan as the female lead while Prabhas, Mohan Lal, Akshay Kumar, Kajal played cameos. The film is directed by  Mukesh Kumar Singh of Mahabharat fame. Mohan Babu also played an important role in the film.

The film got mixed reviews from movie lovers. In the midst of all, Tammareddy Bharadwaj speaking to scribes, slammed the makers for Kannappa debacle. He said he watched the film after 9th or 10th day of its release and so told them the makers flaws. He said he called Mohan Babu and Vishnu and told them had they avoided the mistakes, Kannappa would have been a hit.

He said the film turned out to be below average. He added had the makers used the Prabhas dates properly the film turned out to be sensational hit. He added that taking a film is one thing and killing the content is another thing. He added aping Baahubali and RRR will not work.

More than ten films on Srikalahasti Mahatyam and Kannappa came in various languages and all turned out to be hits because the content was strong. The makers should introspect why Kannappa turned out to be disaster for Mohan Babu. Kannappa didnot have the devotion and the Lord Shiva and Parvathi's characters turned out to be a laughing stock. He said he told the same to Mohan Babu.

He added that with Shiva and Parvathi not spreading devotion, the whole mission failed. He added that Prabhas' character was designed powerfully.They could have cast newcomers as Shiva and Parvathi. They roped in stars and the remuneration got wasted.

He pointed out that even Raghavendra Rao and Balakrishna's Panduraga Mahatyam failed for the same reason. The new version lacked the devotion. If the makers make changes as per their whims and fancies, people will not appreciate. One should create emotion,devotion and scenes should give goosebumps.Only then the films will become a hit.

Tammareddy Bharadwaj said Nagarjuna-Raghavendra Rao's Annamayya had hundreds of mistakes but it turned out to be a blodckbuster because the scenes and emotions worked and climax took viewers to another level.
