Varun Tej teaming with this director. Mega Prince Varun Tej for all his penchant for doing different genre entertainers failed to hit the success track. After scoring hits with Tholi Prema and Fidaa, he failed to score hits. Though he scored a decent hit with Gaddalakonda Ganesh, his films Ghani, Operation Valentine, Gandeevadhari Arjuna, Matka turned out to be disasters.

He is starring in a hilarious horror entertainer under the direction of Merlapaka Gandhi. The film completed Anantapur schedule and is heading for Korean schedule.

The film is touted to be titled Korean Kanakaraju. Though Merlapaka Gandhi didnot have much success, he is pinning hopes on this project.

Now, reports are coming that Varun Tej is set to team with Vikram Sirikonda. Vikram Sirikonda who impressed as a writer with Konchem Ishtam Kochemn Kashtam, Mirapakay and Race Gurram, failed as director with Ravi Teja's Touch Chesi Choodu. He according to sources penned a romantic love story and buzz is Mythri Movie Makers will be bankrolling the project.
