The Andhra Pradesh government has initiated an official inquiry to address concerns and make decisions that will benefit the film industry, exhibitors, distributors, and producers. Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh confirmed that the inquiry, led by the Principal Secretary of the Home Department, will investigate recent developments, particularly reports of a potential movie theatre shutdown starting June 1. The government is committed to extending full support to the Telugu film industry and understanding the root causes behind this sudden development.
The Minister has discussed the issue with Home Secretary Kumar Vishwajeet and directed a thorough investigation into why this issue has emerged, who is fuelling it, and what exactly is happening. He expressed confidence that the facts will come to light through the inquiry. Under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the new government has begun a detailed assessment of all issues concerning the film sector. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had previously met industry stakeholders and assured them of prompt solutions.
Minister Kandula Durgesh in his latest press meet in Rajahmundry emphasized that his government is committed to the development of tourism, culture, and cinema sectors in the state. He questioned whether his government had ever taken decisions against the industry because film celebrities did not meet, highlighting the previous government's alleged harassment of the film industry. The current government has taken steps to support the industry, such as increasing ticket prices and giving permission for shootings. The Minister extended an open invitation to producers and the Chamber of Commerce, urging them to collaborate with the government.

He also asked why didn't no one condemned about theatres shutdown then itself. He reiterated the government is ready to provide cooperation and will continue to do so, whether the industry comes forward or not. Minister Durgesh also validated comments made by Allu Aravind regarding movie theatres, stating that they were true. With the government's support, the film industry can look forward to a brighter future. The inquiry will investigate the root causes of the issue and provide a way forward for the film industry.
