Suneil Shetty on why Athiya quit Bollywood. Suneil Shetty turned proud grandfather when his daughter Athiya Shetty and her husband, cricketer KL.Rahul became proud parents.

Now, speaking to scribes, he said why Athiya Shetty quit Bollywood. He revealed  “She said, ‘Baba, I don’t want to,’ and she just left. And that’s what I salute her for saying, ‘I’m not interested. I don’t want to do films.’ After Motichoor Chaknachoor, a lot came her way. ‘But I don’t want to. I’m comfortable, you know?"

He continued "And today, she's got the best role of her life. You know, she's working in the best film, and that is the life, the role of her mother and she's loving it,"

Athiya made her debut with Salman Khan's HERO in 2015 and was last seen in  ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’ (2019), in which she shared screen presence with Nawazuddin Siddiquie. Even as fans waited eagerly for her next film, she surprised all by entering into wedlock with KL.Rahul in 2023.
