A controversy has erupted surrounding the upcoming film DD Next Level, starring Santhanam. BJP member and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (Ttd) member Bhanuprakash Reddy has served a defamation notice to Santhanam and Niharika Entertainments, demanding the removal of the song 'Kissa 47' from the film.

The song allegedly offends Hindu sentiments by using the 'Srinivasa Govinda' chant, which is a sacred phrase used in prayers to Lord Venkateshwara. Bhanuprakash has demanded Rs 100 crore in compensation if the song is not removed.

The controversy has also drawn the attention of the Janasena party, which has registered a complaint with the Tirupati One Town Police Station. Party in-charge Kiran Royal has alleged that the song damages the reputation of the deity and has urged authorities to take action. He has also met with Tamil Nadu opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswamy, showing him the song and requesting him to intervene in the matter.

Santhanam's Response to the Controversy

In response to the controversy, Santhanam has stated that he is a devotee of Lord Venkateswara and that the makers had no intention of offending the deity or anyone else. The film's release is scheduled for May 16 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. DD Next Level features a star-studded cast, including Selvaraghavan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Geethika, Yashika Aannand, and Rajendran, among others.
