KRR - Director Who Redefined Commercial Cinema

Director K Raghavendra Rao is fondly called as 'Darsakendrudu' for his most successful body of work in wide variety of genres. He has set two extreme benchmarks in modern cinema era. He is known for showing heroines in the most glamorous manner drawing a fine line between glamour and vulgar and is known for delivering devotional movie appealing to modern generation. He has made many commercial blockbusters right from senior NTR to Junior NTR. 

Raghavendra Rao's career spanned over 50 years with directing more than 100 films. His illustrious career has all kinds of memorable films like Jyothi and Aame Katha in Social films, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Sahasa Veerudu Sagara Kanya in fantasy genre, Simha Baludu in folklore, Annamayya, Sri Rama Dasu and many more in devotional genres. 

KRR has made memorable blockbusters with NTR. His Adavi Ramudu with NTR is considered as guidebook for commercial cinema template. Films like Vetagadu, Simha Baludu, Kondaveeti Simham, Justice Chowdary and Major Chandrakanth are landmark hits in their combination. Raghavendra Rao also delivered numerous hits with Chiranjeevi. Gharana Mogudu in their combination is the first Telugu film which has collected more than 10 crores. 

Raghavendra Rao is the one who has introduced SS Rajamouli to film industry. When he established RK Teleshow to make soap operas for TV, he introduced Rajamouli as a director with tv serial Shanti Nivasam telecasted in E TV. Then he introduced Rajamouli into film with his production Student No 1 starring NTR for which he also did the role of direction supervision. Now KRR launched KRR Works and made many short films encouraging new talent. He produced Sarakari Noukari recently.
