Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau Asks Makers to change Ganja Shankar. The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) recently issued a notice to the team behind the Telugu film 'Ganja Shankar', prompting a call for change from its original creators. This notification was formally delivered to Sai Dharam Tej, the film's protagonist, along with producer S. Nagavamshi and director Sampath Nandi.

Under the directive of TSNAB director Sandeep Shandilya, IPS, the creators were instructed to alter the film's title, removing any reference to "Ganja". The bureau's concern lies in the potential glorification of illicit substances, particularly evident in the film's depiction of a character associated with the ganja trade.

Expressing their stance via social media, TSNAB urged the film fraternity to be mindful of their portrayal of substances regulated under the NDPS Act, emphasizing the need to refrain from glorifying their sale or consumption.

Furthermore, the notification warned of potential legal repercussions should the film feature any inappropriate scenes involving ganja, narcotics, or psychotropic substances. Notably, a video titled 'First High', released by the movie's creators on October 15, 2023, attracted particular attention in this regard.
