Vamsee shares Tiger Nageswara Rao secrets

Recreating Stuartpuram for RT

Raviteja's Tiger Nageswara Rao directed by Vamsee Kreshna is the talk of the town. The film is a biopic on the dreaded chief of Stuartpuram who wreaked fear in the state of Andhra Pradesh in the 1970s. The film stars Nupur Sanon, Gayathri Bharadwaj as the female leads while Renu Desai and Anupam Kher is playing crucial roles.

Vamsee speaking to scribes shared the secrets of Tiger Nageswara Rao and how they toiled hard to recreate the Stuartpuram of the 70s. He said  “Many filmmakers prefer indoor shoots for historical films for the same reason, but that presents an obstacle when filming dacoit-inspired movies. When shooting outdoors it is very difficult to stay true to the timeline,” However the makers chose to shoot the scenes in natural locations for a realistic feel.

Vamsee shot scenes on Raviteja and others in Visakhapatnam and they were seen performing action sequences in the night at the Vizag harbor. Vamsee shared "To make the scene look authentic, the team modified the dock to appear less modern. Additionally, a huge set resembling Stuartpuram of the 70s was created on five acres of land in Hyderabad,”

He added “I visited Stuartpuram numerous times, but few resources were available. After gathering a few photographs from locals, I formulated an idea of what I wanted the movie to look like: Coastal and gritty. I had to rely on my imagination to fill in the gaps,” About Raviteja and his costumes, Vamsee says  “Not only his costumes, but his body language and diction underwent significant changes, and he was enthusiastic about it,”

He questions "Who better to portray the Robin Hood of Stuartpuram than Ravi Teja? The character necessitates a great deal of enthusiasm, and Ravi Teja pulled it off with ease. He was intrigued by the prospect of portraying a man performing such a negative act (robbery) for the betterment of others, which he believes will divide the audience.”
