Protagonists going blind and proving themselves as heroes in the story or script is something a new and untouched juicy shade in present day Indian cinema. It was few months back that Malayalam Super Star Mohan Lal initiated this trend by doing a film called ‘Oppam’ wherein he played a blind with heightened smelling abilities cracking a crime thriller. The film came out with a hit verdict inspiring other neighboring film industry writers to pen on the same lines.
Later we have heard on couple of writers from Telugu industry also working on similar blind projects. One is ‘Andhagadu’ from Raj Tharun and the other is from untitled flick from Anil Ravipudi (likely to be made with Raviteja, Dil Raju).
Meanwhile, ‘Kaabil’ from Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautham released today is also an action- revenge blind film won the hearts of audience and critics. Reports say, Hrithik’s body language and performance as blind man Rohan Bhatnagar will remain a text book for other artists taking up alike roles.
