Dealing historical concepts or stories weaved around legendary personalities can’t be made as simple scripts. A holistic approach studying deep their lives and circumstances prevailing during those times has to be taken into consideration before framing whole design. Director Krish says that ‘Gauthami Puthra Satakarni’ is not a regular historical film made with Satakarni’s story but he was considered as a phenomenon and an evolution during Satavahana regime.
‘Richard Attenborough’s vision on Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi as phenomenon resulted in epic biographical film called Gandhi. I viewed Satakarni in the same perspective defining a Phenomenon called Gauthami Puthra Satakarni. My portrayal of his life history is on a broader vision,’ Krish said.
More than excessive war scenes, definitely there was larger scope on Krish’s hand to glorify the administration setup, socio-economic-cultural-political conditions and reforms undertaken in early AD times. Whatsoever, GPS is doing wonders at Box Office becoming a remarkable film in Krish and Balayya’s career.
