T-time for Tollywood

The Telangana tangle has played the villain for the Telugu film industry. Telangana activists have worked overtime to halt screening of films of actors who are opposing the proposed T-state. As Megastar Chiru joins the bandwagon for United Andhra, Telanagana Rashtra Samiti and student groups have banned the screening of his films. Moreover, his relative Allu Arjun, brother Pavan Kalyan and son Charan are actors of repute who bear the brunt of the Praja Rajyam actions.

Protestors in Hyderabad and nine Telangana districts have imposed the ban on Chiru and his kins’ films across the region. However, senior actor and former MP Mohan Babu and N. Harikrishna and their family members are  being targeted after they joined the “United Andhra” movement. As most of the film personalities hail from the coastal and Rayalaseema regions, the Telugu films seem to face the ire of T-region. In view of these developments, Tollywood has put off releasing films in December and until first part of January, until Sankranthi. Perhaps!
