The Income Tax department on today conducted swift raids on the offices and residences of Malayalam film superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal. As per media reports, simultaneous raids are being carried out in their premises in Kochi, Chennai and Bangalore.
As we know, both of them are the biggest and most popular actors in the Malayalam film industry. They are also known to several business interests. Besides owning Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, a film distribution company and Vismayas Max, a film post-production studio, Mohanlal has also produced films under the banner Pranavam Arts. He also owns many restaurants in Dubai, Kochi and Bangalore and is a partner in Mohanlal’s Tastebuds, a pickle and curry powder company.
Mammootty owns Playhouse Entertainments, a film distribution company. He is also the chairman of Malayalam TV channel Kairali TV. Presently Mohanlal is shooting for a film in Rameshwaram while Mammootty is in Chennai.
