The Telangana High Court has asked the state government to submit complete details in the cheating case filed against television actress Ashu Reddy. She went to court asking to cancel the FIR registered by the Hyderabad Central Crime Station over an alleged fraud of around 9.35 crore rupees. During the hearing, the government lawyer asked for more time to file the report. The court agreed and posted the next hearing to May 4.
The complaint was filed by a Hyderabad resident whose son is a software engineer in London. He alleged that Ashu Reddy promised to marry his son and over the years made him spend huge amounts on cars, gold, and properties. Many of those assets are said to be in her name. The complaint also says more than 9 crore rupees was transferred to her during the relationship. Police have named her sister in the case too, saying she took 50 lakh rupees and did not return it.
In her petition, Ashu Reddy denied all the charges. She said the FIR was filed only to damage her image. She claimed the complainant’s son spent the money on his own and there was no cheating or false promise. She also told the court that her version was not heard before the case was booked. She has asked the court to stop the investigation and keep the police from taking any action until the matter is properly reviewed.
Meanwhile, an audio clip is going around on social media in which a woman is heard talking about repaying money. Many claim it is Ashu Reddy, but there is no official confirmation about the clip yet. The actress has been staying away from public events after the case came out. The matter is now pending before the High Court, and everyone is waiting to see what happens after the May 4 hearing.
