The Kanna teaser is out, and it’s already being hailed as one of 2026’s most promising youthful entertainers. Director SN Rajasekhar Reddy launched the teaser with a full-on celebration in Hyderabad, turning the event into a festival vibe. Presented by Madhuri and backed by Passionate Film Makers and Cinematic Visual Studio, the film has locked a worldwide release in 2026.

The teaser connects instantly especially with the IPL season adding to the cricket buzz..Forget the usual heavy sports drama, Kanna is a warm, nostalgic ride back to the gully cricket days every small town remembers. The story is built on three things we all know, cricket, love, and emotions.
It opens with a national selector hunting for a batsman he saw dominate a game four years ago. That player is Kanna Vasudev, played by Karthik Shivan, a borewell worker from a village who’s a natural with the bat. The teaser mixes dusty street matches, single-handed bet-game wins, and tender moments with Satya, played by Geethika Ratan. With his long hair and never-say-die attitude, Karthik Shivan looks perfect for the role. But it’s not all fun, the teaser also hints at the hurdles Kanna faces because of his obsession with cricket, setting up real stakes.
On the technical side, Kanna looks top-notch. DOP Gunasekhar, also lensing Spirit, gives the film an earthy, vibrant texture that film pages are already praising. Saravana Vasudevan’s music nails the nostalgic mood, while editor Kodati Pavan Kalyan keeps everything crisp and punchy.
