Pradeep Ranganathan Still a Box Office Draw as LIK Crosses 50 Cr Mark

LIK Hits 50 Crore Mark

Despite mixed reviews and a pretty lukewarm response, Pradeep Ranganathan has shown he’s still a bankable star. His latest film LIK – Love Insurance Kompany just crossed the ₹50 Cr milestone at the worldwide box office. Sure, it hasn’t touched the ₹100 Cr mark like his earlier blockbusters, but hitting ₹50 Cr is a big deal considering everything the film went through.

LIK - Love Insurance Kompany had a rough journey before release. The Vignesh Shivan directorial kept getting postponed because of censor board shutdowns and money issues, and it lost a lot of its early hype. When it finally hit theatres on April 10, 2026, word of mouth was mixed to negative. Critics and regular viewers felt the execution didn’t live up to the cool futuristic idea. Still, the film pulled in ₹50 Cr worldwide gross.

For a movie that started with weak reviews, that kind of number shows Pradeep Ranganathan can bring people to theatres on his name alone. Getting audiences to turn up for a film facing these odds is no easy task. This is actually Pradeep Ranganathan’s first film as a lead that didn’t cross ₹100 Cr. His past hits Love Today, Dragon, and Dude all made it to that club. But ₹50 Cr in this situation tells you something important, he’s got real pull. The crowd trusts him enough to give his films a shot even when the buzz isn’t great.

The big takeaway here is simple. With the right script and tighter execution, Pradeep Ranganathan can easily deliver another ₹100 Cr hit. As a film, LIK might be a step back. As a star, he’s passed the test. He still has a loyal audience base that shows up for him, and that’s what counts in the long run.
