India’s cinema viewing experience is set for a major IMAX-level upgrade as UFO Moviez India Limited announces a strategic tie-up with China Film Group to launch the premium large screen format CINITY. This collaboration aims to bring a next-generation theatrical experience to Indian audiences by combining cutting-edge visual and sound technologies under one platform.
Positioned as a “Hollywood-approved” format, CINITY promises to redefine how films are consumed in theatres, offering sharper, smoother, and more immersive viewing. The move comes at a crucial time when exhibitors are actively seeking premium formats to draw audiences back to the big screen and compete with OTT content. With this partnership, UFO Moviez plans a nationwide rollout that reflects a growing industry push toward high-end cinema technology.
CINITY stands out from conventional formats by integrating multiple advanced technologies to create a superior cinematic experience. The CINITY large screen format supports 4K resolution, 3D projection, high frame rate (HFR), high dynamic range (HDR), and a wide color gamut for lifelike visuals. It also enhances audio with immersive sound systems, delivering crisper dialogue, smoother motion, and more realistic soundscapes.
Unlike standard projection systems, CINITY focuses on maintaining consistent quality across filming, production, and projection processes, ensuring the director’s vision reaches theatres without compromise. This makes CINITY positions it as a true IMAX-level upgrade for Indian cinemas. Through its partnership with China Film Group, UFO Moviez India Limited plans to roll out CINITY-enabled screens across India in a phased manner, targeting key metros and tier-1 cities first. A key highlight of the CINITY India plan is the proposed setup of a dedicated CINITY lab in the country to support content creation, mastering, and integration.
