Suriya is coming to enthrall with his upcoming film Karuppu directed by RJ. Balaji. The film is releasing on 14 May 2026. The film stars Trisha as the female lead.
In the meantime, speaking to scribes, Balaji shared the details of Karuppu. Speaking about Suriya screen presence, he said “Even if there are ten people in a scene, he stands out. His eyes and screen presence are outstanding,” He added “He has given his full effort to ‘Karuppu’ and lifted the character to another level.”
About Karuppu, he said “This is the kind of big hero film that families can enjoy together during the holidays. With a mass star like Suriya sir, you must give everything, laughter, love, and action,”
He continued “It is based on something that happened in my life. I always wanted to tell this story someday,” and added Karuppu is built around “a good soul and a life connected to it,” making it both emotional and entertaining.
He continued “When the world is going through tough times, what if a powerful hero comes and removes all the problems and defeats evil?” He said he draws inspiration from rural deity Karuppusamy.
