The iconic film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge got a top honor once again. Academy of Mtion Pictures, gave a shout out for the film and listed in a top romance films that involve travel.
The film starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles under the direction of Aditya Chopra. The film continues to be screened at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir theatre — a rare feat that has turned it into one of the longest-running films in Indian cinema. Its continued theatrical run is not just about legacy, but about demand. Audiences still show up, not out of curiosity, but out of habit and affection.
