Rakesh Bedi Clarifies Dhurandhar Role Not Inspired by Pakistani Politician Nabil Gabol

Is Jamal Jameeli In Dhurandhar Inspired By Real Pakistan Politician

Rakesh Bedi has addressed comparisons between his character in Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Pakistani politician Nabil Gabol, stating that the resemblance is purely coincidental. The actor emphasized that his character, Jameel Jamali, is inspired by various politicians in Pakistan, not specifically Gabol.

During an interaction, Bedi responded light-heartedly, "I love you, Nabil Gabol... it's a coincidence that I resemble you a little bit." He added that the similarity in their appearance, including a slight heaviness in their bodies, led to the comparison. Bedi clarified that his role wasn't inspired by Gabol, saying, "My character is not based on Nabil Gabol. Jameel Jamali is inspired by many such politicians in Pakistan."

Nabil Gabol had previously expressed disagreement with certain aspects of the character's portrayal, particularly a storyline showing the figure as an intelligence operative. He also mentioned plans to make a film, Lyari Ka Gabbar, presenting his perspective on Lyari.
