The upcoming romantic action thriller Dacoit: Oka Prema Katha, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, has officially cleared its censorship formalities with a UA certificate from the CBFC. Directed by debutant Shaneil Deo, the film has been locked at a crisp and engaging runtime of approximately 2 hours and 22 minutes (142 minutes). This duration is considered ideal for a gritty crime drama, ensuring the narrative remains tight while leaving enough room for the high-stakes emotional conflict between the lead pair.
The pre-release business for Dacoit has reached new heights for Adivi Sesh, with the worldwide theatrical rights valued at approximately ₹30 crore. This includes a strong ₹20 crore from the Telugu states (Nizam and Andhra) and an additional ₹6.5 crore from overseas markets. To achieve "hit" status, the film needs to gross over ₹50 crore in the Telugu version alone. Given Sesh’s track record of hits like Major and HIT 2, trade experts are optimistic about the film’s commercial prospects, especially with the added pan-India appeal of the Hindi version.
The buzz surrounding the project is palpable, largely fueled by the fresh pairing of Sesh and Mrunal Thakur and the inclusion of Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap as the antagonist.
