Adivi Sesh's Dacoit is heading into its April 10 release with impressive pre-release business, generating approximately ₹30 crore worldwide. The film's promotional content has created solid buzz, boosted by Sesh's reputation for content-driven cinema.
The Telugu theatrical rights have been sold at strong territory-wise numbers, with Andhra Pradesh (6 territories) fetching ₹10+ crore and Nizam ₹7 crore+, totaling close to ₹20 crore in Telugu states. Overseas rights have been sold for ₹6.5+ crore, bringing the total Telugu version business to ₹30 crore. Dacoit features Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap in key supporting roles.
To recover its investment, Dacoit needs to gross approximately ₹50 crore+ gross in the Telugu version alone, setting a challenging breakeven mark ahead of the April 10 release. The film is also releasing in Hindi, targeting a wider pan-India audience, a strategy Adivi Sesh successfully executed with Major.
Given the scale of Dacoit's pre-release business, the film must emerge as Sesh's biggest grosser to be declared a full success. The record pre-release numbers signal strong trade confidence, making the April 10 opening one to watch.
