Aditi Bhatia, Ulka Gupta, and Aishwarya Ojha 's The Kerala Story 2 directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh got a breather from the Kerala High Court.
The court set aside the sSingle Bench order which issued a fortnight-long stay on its release permitting the screening if the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issues a certificate stating that the alleged controversial portions in the film’s teaser and trailer do not find mention in the film.
The makers described the film's intent with a statement: "They targeted our daughters. They broke their trust. They stole their futures. This time, we do not stay silent. The story goes beyond. Is bar sahenge nahi... ladenge (sic)." The trailer opened with the warning that if one doesn't fight India will become an Islamic State in the next 25 years.
Vipul Amrutlal Shah under Sunshine Pictures banner is producing the film which is the sequel to The Kerala Story directed by Sudipto Sen which starred Adah Sharma, Siddhi Idnani, Yogita Bihani and Sonia Balani in the lead roles in 2023.
