Sudipto Sen on why he did not direct Kerala Story 2. Kerala Story 2 directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh is releasing on 27 Feb 2026. The film is the sequel to the hit film Kerala Story.
It is known that Kerala Story is directed by Sudipto Sen. Now speaking to scribes, he shared why he did not direct the sequel. He said “For the first film, I researched the subject for 10 years. I could stand by every word and visual in that film. If the sequel expands beyond Kerala into other states, I cannot rely on WhatsApp forwards or newspaper reports.”
He continued “Sensitive subjects require deep research and long-term study. Without that foundation, I wouldn’t feel responsible enough to direct it,”
Even before its release, Kerala Story 2 is landing in various controversies. The film stars Aditi Bhatia, Ulka Gupta, and Aishwarya Ojha in the lead roles.
