Roshan Meka's period action drama Champion is now streaming on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam audios along with English subtitles. The film, directed by Pradeep Advaitham, highlights the Razakar system under the Nizam rule and stars Anaswara Rajan as the female lead, marking her Telugu debut.
Champion is produced jointly by Priyanka Dutt, GK Mohan, and Gemini Kiran under the banners of Swapna Cinema, Anandi Art Creations, and Concept Films, with Zee Studios presenting it. The film was made on a budget of ₹40-45 crore and features a talented ensemble cast, including Nandamuri Kalyana Chakravarthy, Murali Sharma, and Santosh Pratap.
Despite its strong production, Champion didn't perform well at the box office, collecting around ₹17-20 crore. However, Netflix acquired the digital rights for ₹16 crore, aiming to revive the film's prospects. Champion received a 7.5 rating from audiences, with praise for its music composed by Mickey J Meyer.
Champion follows Michael Williams, an aspiring footballer from Secunderabad, who dreams of playing in London. His life takes a dramatic turn as he gets embroiled in the Indian independence movement against the British.
