Kangana Fires On AR Rahman

Kangana Ranaut has criticised music maestro AR Rahman for calling her upcoming film Chhaava 'divisive'. She alleged that Rahman refused to meet her for her movie Emergency due to political prejudice. Kangana took to Instagram to express her strong reaction, calling Rahman "prejudiced and hateful".

Kangana accused Rahman of hypocrisy, questioning his intentions behind commenting on Chhaava. She shared a video of Rahman's interview, addressing him directly. Kangana wrote, "Dear AR Rahman ji, I've faced prejudice in the industry for supporting a saffron party, but I've not seen anyone as prejudiced and hateful as you." She added that Rahman refused to meet her for Emergency, calling it a "propaganda film".

Kangana's film Emergency focuses on the 1975-1977 Emergency in India, featuring her as Indira Gandhi. Despite its strong theme, the film underperformed at the box office. AR Rahman had commented on Chhaava, saying it's "divisive" and "cashed in on divisiveness".
