Jana Nayagan Release Gets Closer

Good News For Jananayagan

Vijay's fans have got a boost as the Supreme Court is set to hear the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by Jana Nayagan's producers on January 15, a few days earlier than expected. The film's release has been stuck in limbo due to censor issues, but this development has raised hopes of a January 23 release.

The film was initially supposed to release on January 9, but the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) failed to issue the censor certificate on time. The producers moved the Madras High Court, which ordered the CBFC to issue a U/A certificate. However, the CBFC appealed against the order, leading to a stay on the ruling and further delaying the release.

The Supreme Court's decision on January 15 could clear the way for Jana Nayagan's release. If the court rules in favour of the producers, the film could hit theaters on January 23, just before Republic Day on January 26. The case will be heard by a bench led by the Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant.

The delay has sparked controversy, with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and other politicians criticizing the CBFC's handling of the situation. The film's production house has urged the Supreme Court to consider their appeal, while the CBFC has filed a caveat requesting to be heard before any orders are passed.
