AAP Demands Withdrawal of Actor Yash Toxic Movie Teaser

Controversy Over Yash Toxic Teaser

The Karnataka unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has officially approached the Karnataka State Women’s Commission regarding actor Yash’s upcoming film, Toxic. On Monday, party members filed a formal complaint in Bengaluru demanding the immediate withdrawal of the movie's teaser. The party claims that the video content is inappropriate for general public viewing, specifically citing concerns for the well-being of women and children.

The complaint was led by AAP State Secretary Usha Mohan, accompanied by several women office-bearers who visited the Commission’s office. They urged the authorities to issue strict directions to the film’s producers to take the teaser down. Usha Mohan stated that the teaser contains obscene and adult visuals that could be harmful to society. She emphasized that the video was released without any age restrictions, which she believes insults Karnataka’s cultural values and affects the dignity of women.

Furthermore, the AAP leader appealed to the Commission for urgent intervention to ensure the teaser is removed from all social media platforms. Beyond just the removal of the video, the complaint also requests that the Commission direct the State Government and the police to take appropriate legal action regarding the matter. The party insists that the scenes shown are detrimental to the mental and social health of young viewers and women.

The teaser for Toxic was released on January 8 and instantly became a massive internet sensation, gathering over 220 million views in just one week. However, this viral success has come with significant backlash due to its bold content. The primary source of the controversy is a specific sequence involving a car and depictions of sexual intimacy, which has drawn sharp attention from the public and political groups alike.

While the teaser has been praised by fans for its cinematic style and audacity, it has faced heavy criticism from various sections of social media. Critics have labeled the scenes as unnecessary and sensational, accusing the filmmakers of objectifying women to gain views. As the debate continues between those who enjoy the artistic style and those concerned about the content, the demand for its removal highlights the growing tension around the film's release which is slated for March 19, 2026.
