The Madras High Court has cleared the release of Sivakarthikeyan's Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, just in time for Pongal. The film was facing a legal challenge alleging plagiarism in its story, but Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy has given the go ahead for its release on January 10.
The film's cast includes Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela, alongside Sivakarthikeyan. The plagiarism allegations were made by assistant director KV Rajendran, who claimed that the story was copied from his registered work, Chemmozhi. Senior Advocate PS Raman represented Kongara, while Senior Advocate Aravind Pandian appeared for producer Dawn Pictures.
The court has instructed the South Indian Film Writers's Association to investigate the plagiarism claim and submit a report by Friday. With the legal hurdle cleared, Parasakthi is set to clash with Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan, which hits theaters on January 9. The stage is set for a thrilling box office showdown.
Parasakthi's release is highly anticipated, and fans are eager to see Sivakarthikeyan's performance. Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, and Prakash Raj, is also expected to make a big impact. The Pongal season is shaping up to be an exciting one, with several big films releasing back-to-back.
